How to “recession proof” yourself

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 | News | 1 Comment

Many people are beginning to realize that these economic problems may be worse than we thought. My guess (and this is only my opinion) is that we could be in for years of harder times. So what’s the best way to “recession proof” yourself? In these situations, there are two basic strategies:

  1. Put yourself in a position to make more money
  2. Spend less money

I recommend you do both of these things. However, the problem is that boosting your career almost always requires some kind of financial investment. For example, studies show that boosting your vocabulary is one of the best ways to boost your income and career. This is ESPECIALLY important in hard times when competition for jobs goes through the roof. But who wants to go and spend $300 on a vocabulary program with a recession looming?

At eReflect we have been giving this question some serious thought and we have come up with something that I think you will find very exciting…

The thousands of people who have responded to my emails already know that Confidence In Context is set to be THE most financially sensible way to improve your vocabulary. This is because it’s a monthly program  that only requires an investment of 24.95 each month - as opposed to hitting you with a $200-$300 fee before you even  know what you are getting. But the economy has worsened significantly since we first announced Confidence In Context, so we have decided to respond.

Here’s what we are going to do:

If you are one of the 200 people accepted into our platinum membership, we are going to give you your first month of training FREE (you only need to pay $2.97 postage and handling). And, if you like, you can even cancel your membership as soon as you receive your free month with nothing more to pay!

Why are we doing this?

Well first and foremost, this is our response to the economic situation. Even though we know that the majority of our customers can easily afford $24.95 per month and think it’s a bargain considering what we are offering, we still realise that many people will appreciate a “good deal” in these uncertain times. In other words we are simply offering a better deal (the first month free) in response to the recent economic events.

Second, it also has the benefit of letting you “try before you buy”. Of course we hope you stay subscribed… And we also know that when you see the amazing results this program delivers you won’t be able to get enough. But for just in case you have any lingering doubts, this “free month” will allow you to try a full month of the program for only $2.97.

Please remember that the best way to maximize your chance of a position in the platinum program (with the free month) is to get on our priority notification list. So please do this now by clicking on the following link and filling out the form on our main page:

Confidence In Context receives rave reviews in industry “sneak preview”

Thursday, October 16th, 2008 | News | No Comments

Recently we offered a “sneak preview” of the Confidence in Context program to a select group of online writing, vocabulary, and education specialists. The response was so overwhelmingly good, that many experts even gave us their opinions in writing. Here is a sample of some of the feedback we received:

Jennifer Stewart
Jennifer Stewart from Write101.com writes:

It’s a frightening thought that every word you write or utter is like a neon sign, sending out messages about your education, your competence and your status to the whole world. So it’s no wonder that there are lots of programs on the market to help you build a better and stronger vocabulary.

The thing is that the majority of these programs are very much the “same old, same old” … or at least, they were. But I’ve just been given a sneak preview of a program that’s based on the latest research into how we learn words.

If you stop and think about it, as children, we didn’t learn words by sitting at a desk in front of a text book, did we? We didn’t learn words by listening to a tape drone on and on with definitions.

We learnt by hearing words in context … as they’re used in everyday conversations. And that’s exactly what this new system of vocabulary training does — it triggers your brain’s natural word-learning processes so you not only recall the right word for the right occasion, but you also know exactly how to use it in context.

The words are organised according to themes, such as words you could use when going for an interview, words you could use in difficult situations etc. Each audio has an introduction that explains the words for that set. You’re given a detailed definition, examples of the different parts of the word, synonyms and antonyms where appropriate, an explanation of the origin of the word and examples of when you could expect to use it. Then there’s an extended conversation that focuses on that particular set of “ultimate” words — words the experts agree are important for anyone who wants to be taken seriously as a powerful communicator. By listening to the words used in conversation in a variety of ways, your brain is able to recall them quickly when you need them.

Finally, you have a series of exercises that you can complete using the CD and the workbook and revise using the set of printable flash cards.

This course can save a lot of embarrassment. I’ve seen would-be professionals give presentations using words like ‘penultimate’ when they meant ‘ultimate’; ‘fragrant’ when they meant ‘flagrant’; and ‘vigorous’ when they meant ‘rigorous’. If only they used Confidence In Context

At last - a product that can help me to learn to use new words in REAL live situations! With the old methods of vocabulary building I could learn the definitions of new words but I never seemed to have the confidence to USE them in conversation. With these new recordings I am learning with no real effort - I just listen, and then I find myself using the words without even thinking about it! Thanks for making such an awesome course!

First, I’d like to thank everyone for their positive emails and comments. We have been so caught up in the last-minute details of the Confidence In Context program, that we only just approved all your comments from the last blog post. So if you commented there you will now be able to see your comment on the post.

In the last week, we have also been swamped by emails asking more questions about the course. Again, I apologize that due to the sheer number of emails received, I haven’t been able to answer each one individually. However the two main questions currently are “when is the course going to be released?” and “how do I join?”

We haven’t yet announced the official release date. However, we will announce this very soon… and you can expect to see the course going live this month. Keep an eye on your email in coming weeks for more details.

You can join by being one of the first 200 people to apply. People who are on the “priority notification list” will get the first chance to apply. After that if there are any positions left they will be offered to people who are not on the “priority notification list”. If you are one of the many who signed up during our official survey you can relax - you are on the priority notification list already.

If you are not on the priority notification list, you can join now by filling out the form on the main website here:

Finally, we have recorded a free vocabulary mp3 for you. Although this is not part of the Confidence In Context Course and does not contain any laser-targeted conversations, it DOES show you specific techniques that you can use - even if you don’t get into the Confidence In Context course. For those who do get in, it will act as a good introduction and a primer on the motivations for creating the course.

The last time we tried to give a large audio book to 20,000 people for free, we had so many people downloading at once that it brought our servers down. So this time we are using the MediaFire service. This should ensure uninterrupted downloading. Feel free to share this with your friends via the social links (under share) on the download page.

Why are we giving this away for free?

Two reasons…

First, many people who apply for Confidence In Context will miss out. As I have previously said, initially we are only offering 200 positions.  This free E-Book will offer some of the benefits of the coaching program to the people who don’t get in.

Second, for those who do get access to the program, this report will give you a “primer” or “quick-start-guide” that will put you in a great position to take full advantage of your coaching.
